Residential Development, Riehen

On behalf of Immobilien Basel-Stadt (Basel City’s real estate department) a full-service competition was organised, with the objective of densifying a residential area in Riehen with new affordable housing. A fast, prefabricated timber construction was specified. The Client sought an innovative urban and architectural design that forms an ensemble out of the existing and new buildings. Diverse living arrangements, an active neighbourhood and the communal use of outdoor areas were encouraged.
